Lecture about Moon Dance

Aistė Samsonovaitė (White Swan Woman)

Moon Dance is a women's ceremony mainly practiced in Mexico and from there brought by elders to Canada, Central and South America. It is a sacred space for women to come together and for 4 days to pray, dance and support each other in a good way.

Aiste will share some of the teachings of the Moon Dance ceremony. Why it is practiced for 4 years, what part does a temazcalli (sweat lodge) and a smudging ceremony play in it. It's relation to the Sun Dance ceremony and the big Drum. And what is the role of men when women gather together to heal themselves, their relations and their lineages.
