Fire ritual
Huichol elder from Mexico
The guest is an artist and teacher from the Wixárika (Huichol) tradition in Mexico. The elder comes to us to share his prayers and wisdom from Tatawari, the world of sacred fire that is at the heart of the Wixarika tradition.
Wixárika is one of the last surviving pre-colonial tribes in Latin America, living in the mountains of Mexico. Marakami Don Rosendo carries the medicine of the Blue Deer and shares the cosmovision of his ancestors, which speaks of the sacredness of the elements of nature.
It is not allowed to photograph/film the shaman or use photo/video material with him.
